Tornow honored for work at Wesley Woods

Barbara Tornow was recently honored at the Georgia Institute on Aging’s Changing Lives “Profiles of Positive Aging” event.
The annual event was held at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. The event recognizes the best of Georgia’s older adults who continue to make a powerful difference in their community.
Tornow, a longtime Coweta resident who now resides at Wesley Woods of Newnan-Peachtree City, was honored for the contributions she has made to Wesley Woods.Tornow has used her Master Gardener skills and many volunteer hours to beautify the 52 acres north of Newnan.
Seventeen people were honored from retirement communities throughout Georgia at the gathering at Trinity. In addition to Tornow, the honorees included former Atlanta Mayor Sam Massell.
Dick Zechiel, executive director at Wesley Woods, attended the banquet. Brett Tornow was also present to see his mother receive her award from Barbara Woodhouse, co-chair for Changing Lives.
