Chabad of PTC celebrating Sukkos

Chabad of Peachtree City, serving Atlanta’s Southside, invites everyone to the first night of the Jewish holiday of Sukkos.
This is a biblical holiday -- commonly identified as the Festival of the Tabernacles. The holiday lasts for a total of nine days -- the first and final two days being sacred days.
The purpose of the holiday, as explained in the bible (Leviticus 23:43) is “In order that your ensuing generations should know that I settled the children of Israel in ‘booths’ when I took them out of the land of Egypt.”
Chabad of Peachtree City will hold a brisket dinner in the Sukkah at 8 p.m. this Sunday. This is the first time in history that a Sukkah will be built in Peachtree City. The Sukkah will be at the rabbi’s residence, 219 Kelvington Way.
Cost for the meal is $15 for adults, $10 for children. Space is limited, and people planning to attend should email mussy@friendshipcircle.com .
There are also opportunities to visit throughout the other days of the holiday, and to participate in the “four species” ritual. Please call 678-595-0199 for arrangements.
Celebrating the holiday’s final night, Chabad of Peachtree City will hold a Simchas Torah celebration at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 8. The celebration will begin with a genuine Chassidic “Farbrengen” (gathering), with food, drink, song and inspiration. Following the Farbrengen will be dancing with the Torah. There is no charge for this event, and it will be also held at the rabbi’s residence.
The celebration will continue the next morning at 10 a.m. with more celebration and inspiration.
