The Bible teaches believers to “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
For years, II Timothy 2:15 has inspired Christians to establish Bible study classes to help members understand Scripture. Bible study gives individuals an opportunity to search the Scripture, ask the hard questions and discover spiritual truths for themselves.
Explorer’s Bible Study has more than 100 interdenominational classes throughout the United States. Explorer’s has its headquarters located near Nashville,Tenn.
A class will meet at the First Baptist Church Warehouse on Tuesdays from 9:30-11:30 a.m. beginning Aug. 14.
The emphasis of this practical Bible study is to discover what the Bible says and to find its meaning for believers today. Cyndi Winslett will be leading the class in a new study called “The Gospel of Mark/Making Sure of the Truth.” It will also cover Colossians, Philemon, Jude, II Peter, and John’s letters.
The 30 lessons in this course of study will consist of individual preparation at home, small discussion groups with well-trained facilitators, weekly lectures and printed notes and questions for each lesson. The cost of the entire course is $60, and scholarships are available.
A Christian preschool program for children through age 5 is provided for members attending the class. For additional information, please call either Cyndi Winslett at 770-253-7261 or Beverly Simmons at 770-502-0163.
