We write often in the news pages and on this Community Forum page about the generosity of our community. This is indeed a caring, compassionate community.
When there's a need, people almost always respond to meet that need. There are individuals, businesses, civic groups, churches and other groups that find ways to help people and make this a better place to live.
On the front page in today's Newnan Times-Herald we have two stories about how our community is answering the call to help others. Indeed, these are good news stories.
One of the stories details how two church groups have made donations to two organizations needing money.
The other story details how prominent local families and others have made sizable donations to the capital campaign to enhance the soon to open Piedmont Newnan Hospital. This new hospital will dramatically improve health care in our community.
Our growing community keeps changing, but with all the growth and all the change, we continue to be blessed with people and organizations in Coweta County, in Newnan and in all the other towns that stand ready to answer the call to ensure local needs are met.
As long as we have this "people helping people" mentality in our community, this will be a great place to call home.

I moved here from Fayette county after 10 years in a county that all people worry about is keeping up with the Jones's; county and school employees are rude and disrespectful (unless you are in the 'clique"), etc. A Coweta resident for two years now my only regret is not making the move sooner; Sharpsburg rocks!

A look back is the best way to judge a place like Newnan, Coweta County. The people here welcomed newcomers who were looking for The Right Place to live or do business. That is how we have grown. Let us also remember that our elected officials listen and take action. The employees at County and City offices are courteous and helpful. To make this a better place for future generations, all of us need to take a good hard look at our past and follow the example set by those generations.

I have been here almost 10 years now and am grateful to call Newnan home. It is a big enough place that I can do my shopping and take care of the home, and far enough out that I can enjoy a quiet peaceful ride in the country.
