Each year at Christmas, the Sharpsburg Post Office employees organize a community charity drive called the Angel Ride. It began 10 years ago to help provide a brighter Christmas season for underprivileged children and senior adults in Coweta County.
In spite of the worst economy our nation has experienced in decades, the 2009 Angel Ride (held on Dec. 4) was one of the most successful to date. Through the overwhelming generosity of the Sharpsburg community, more than 500 children and senior adults were sponsored this year.
I would like to thank the Sharpsburg community for its continued support of the Angel Ride. Thanks to each individual or family in the community for their unselfish Angel Ride donation so those less fortunate in Coweta County could experience a better Christmas season. The overwhelming support for the Angel Ride continues to grow each year. On behalf of the employees at the Sharpsburg Post Office, thanks again.
