PROPER TRAINING NEEDED: Are 16 year old drivers allowed to carry passengers? Don't blame an intersection for the inadequacies of driver training and experience. Parents need to learn to not turn over keys to a lethal weapon without ensuring proper training.

LIGHTS ON IN RAIN: Think how much money could be made if law enforcement would ticket those who drive in the rain with their headlights off. That's easier to spot than a seat belt infraction. By the way, how do you see inside a car to notice a seat belt violation?

AQUATICS CENTER: The YMCA is not a public aquatics center. To swim there requires a membership with monthly dues. It advertises scholarships, but even with the scholarships it is expensive for those who live paycheck to paycheck.

WHY BLAME OBAMA? Why is it Obama's fault? Simple. The same way you blamed George Bush for everything from failed dikes in New Orleans to bumblebees flying backwards. It's now Obama's watch.

TURNAROUND A MUST: Northgate football coach resigns as directed by athletics director. If the Vikings cannot turn it around next year we citizens who pay all school employees' salaries do expect the athletics director to resign.

FINISH THE WORK: OK the grass has been cut on Highway 34. Now let's work on the intersection at Greenville Street and Spence Avenue. Will it ever get finished?

NUTTY CRIME? Did you hear about two peanuts in the park? One was assaulted.

OBAMA'S TRAVELS: Are U.S. citizens really happy with a President who will travel to Europe to lobby for the Olympics but not to celebrate the fall of the Berlin Wall?

MORTAL SIN: The Times-Herald just committed the mortal sin and used the term winner when referring to Col. Joe Jackson earning his Medal of Honor. Military awards are earned not won. It isn't a competition.

SADDENED: I am saddened by the resignation of Coach Bill Luckie. I am the parent of three Northgate alumni, and their greatest memories are of Coach Luckie -- the teacher -- and the impact he has on the students.

TRUE NEWS: Fox News is number one because it provide true news, as well as opinion shows. Most intelligent Americans know the difference between news and commentary. Many news items would not be known if not for Fox.

PEOPLE AS PAWNS: It is possible those of you fighting health care reform have no idea what it is like to be without a job and no health care. When a prescription cost $5 with insurance coverage and $40 without coverage, saying no is a political ploy using people as pawns.
