One Roof Ecumenical Alliance Outreach Inc., the organization started by multiple local church denominations to provide a unified way to help needy people in Coweta County, continues to see local needs grow.
In an e-mail to local contacts, One Roof executive director Derenda H. Rowe said, "We are requesting your help as we try to meet the needs of those struggling in our community. On June 27 we are requesting that all churches have a word of prayer for our community ministry. The needs in our community continue to be more than we could have imagined. We are also requesting that each church collect an offering to help us as we work to serve Coweta County. This offering can be sent to One Roof, P.O. Box 916, Newnan, GA 30264."
This latest appeal for prayers and for financial support clearly points out a growing number of Coweta residents are still struggling because of the sour economy.
Earlier Rowe said she was seeing many people come to One Roof who have never had to seek help for themselves before.
"People are telling me their unemployment has run out," said Rowe. "It's people who have been able to keep their heads above water. Now they have no income."
People have lost their jobs, and many have lost their homes.
We hope churches, other organizations and individuals will once again answer the call to help One Roof with monetary donations and food items. The need remains great in our community, where residents have always responded in a caring, compassionate manner.

This is a worthy cause. Be in prayer and consider what you can do in support of their mission.

Tom said it best, this is a worthy cause. Give what you can - there are so many that are hurting right now.
