May our small town America atmosphere never go away

It's December. Christmas is just 23 days away, and our community is already busy with holiday activities. This has been a wonderful weekend in Coweta County as this community has had a weekend packed full of community events celebrating the Christmas season. Moreland Community Historical Society held its Community Christmas Dinner with food, fellowship, entertainment and a live Nativity Saturday evening at the Moreland Mill. Senoia was a beehive of holiday activities Saturday afternoon and evening including a twilight parade, music, food, Santa's workshop and more during the evening. Today the community Christmas celebration shifts to Newnan with the town's annual Christmas parade at 3 p.m.
From now until Christmas there will be hundreds and hundreds of other events and activities in our churches and throughout the community to get us all in the Christmas spirit. During the Christmas season, at other holidays and really throughout the year, our community – including each of the cities and towns – shows off its spirit of small town America in a big, big way. This small town atmosphere – that we enjoy and are quick to show off – is a big reason people have flocked to this county during the past two decades. Our community has been one of the fastest growing in Georgia for more than two decades, but we still have a small town atmosphere. Let's hope that atmosphere never goes away.
