There is no greater cultural gem in our community than the Coweta Centre for Performing and Visual Arts operated by the Coweta County School System. This magnificent venue , whose auditorium includes 999 seats, has allowed Newnan and Coweta County to tremendously expand the cultural offerings each year here at home.
A non-profit group that helps promote the facility is the Patrons of the Centre which has launched its annual membership drive called "Illuminate the Arts in 2010." This campaign allows citizens to become individual members for a $45 annual contribution which makes you a Friend of the Centre. Those joining as Stars of the Centre pay a $250 membership or above.
We encourage all Cowetans with interest in the arts to support the Patrons of the Centre. The money they collect in their membership campaign is instrumental in helping attract cultural program to the Centre and training opportunities for our students.
"The continued growth of the arts center will be sustained by our continuing efforts to shine the light on the growing 'stars' within all our students of the arts," said Dr. Mary Ben Christensen, who is Patrons membership chair. "The commitment and spirit of the Coweta County community will allow the Centre to continue to expand its presentation of cultural enhancements and opportunities.
You can become a Patron of the Centre online at centrepatrons.org or call 770-254-2787.
