Sound Off for Friday

Oral Roberts: Anyone who said God told him he was going to kill him unless he raised X millions of dollars is a liar and a scammer. Your friend got new lungs due to medical technology, not due to Oral Roberts.

Need homeless park: Property tax bills sent out and I got mine, and the following two days Coweta schools set their budget at $168 million. When is the private sector working man gonna get a break? County administrators, please open up a homeless park, for I will bring my tent and stay permanently.

It’s safe: Look on the bright side. If you lose your emails in a computer crash, you can get copies from the NSA.

Fund it with SPLOST: Nobody’s going to put over a million dollars in the Warner Building on Savannah Street. Why won’t the city ante up with SPLOST money?

Little irony? Does anybody else think it’s ironic that country leaders at G8 are talking about peace in Northern Ireland?

Kudos: Brittany Harrison has single-handedly put on the fourth Juneteenth celebration in Newnan. WTG, Brittany!

“Compliance?” The Newnan House Motel - compliance. Cute. Interesting article on Sunday, a lot of half-truths and a lot of lies. Owner, clean it up, restore it or simply tear it down.

Need the facts: The article on the Newnan House Motel was very well written, but it did not state all the facts. And as far as compliance goes, a new roof is not enough. How about tearing it down? It is obvious the owner is not going to fix the motel, just a patch job. Not good enough.

No way: Saying he spent $75,000.00 on that hovel (Newnan House Motel) is another one of his fabrications. It can’t be in compliance. It’s uninhabitable, septic system smells, no air conditioning, no electricity and the list continues. If this is in compliance, all I can say is that politics and money will do it every time.

No to new roof: Newnan House Motel made the front page. Interesting article, although the facts as stated by the owner were all untrue. Except for front building, the rest of the motel has been empty for seven years and also uninhabitable. Sorry folks, a new roof just won’t get the job done. Rebuild it or tear it down.

Email? I went online to times-herald.com to find an email address for the editor of the paper, it’s not there. (editor@newnan.com)

Where are the liberals? If Fox is really “Fair and Balanced,” where are the liberal counterparts to Hannity, Rove, Palin, Huckabee, Goldberg, Miller, etc. etc? It’s OK to be conservative and say so, but why say you’re fair and balanced when you’re not?

Eureka: The problem with Republicans/ Conservatives is self-righteousness. Any rational person accepts that other people have opinions that may not match theirs. You are on the right but not always right, nor do your policies work for every situation and person.

Love the ER: I visited the new emergency room for the first time last week. I was very impressed. The staff was wonderful to me, the time I was there was great, and I would like to tell everyone thank you for all your hard work and care you gave me while I was there.
