No passing buses: To the driver of the small white car that passed the stopped school bus on Highway 29 south of Newnan on Friday morning on May 3: I hope the bus had a camera.

Supporting a molester: Why did the DA’s office drop the aggravated charges down to one charge of molestation? The charges would have held up. Could it have been that the molester’s lawyer offered the guilty plea for the reduced charges? I understand the children’s minister and the youth minister along with other members of the Baptist church he attends were in court in support of this molester. Unbelievable.

Dumbing it down: I thought it was very simple. This country has become so dumbed down that Obama got re-elected. The fact that you did not figure that out on your own helps prove my point.

When it is done: I guess my idea of a completed project differs from yours. When all the striping and signage is complete, and all the orange barrels are removed from the area, then and only then will the Hwy 16/Macedonia intersection job be completed. There are at least 20 barrels in the area.

How to really help: I noticed that, once again, so many people were blowing their own horns about their National Day of Prayer. Some of us actually unclasped our hands and did something to help out our neighbors. Those of us that did that accomplished more than those who clenched their eyes and pretended to do something.

No I don’t: Nobody told me I had a duty to buy lemonade from every kid with a lemonade stand. Is that like a state law or something?

Defining politician: Regardless of one’s political views, whoever holds the title of president of the United States is a politician.

Catching frauds: Some of the recent fraudulent credit card purchases using stolen credit cards could have been prevented. If the stores where the cards had been used would have asked to see photo ID that matches the name on the card, the purchases would have been declined.

Sorry about that: I want to apologize for criticizing the new format, especially the font colors of the Times-Herald web page. I just discovered Windows 7 has a high contrast option. It has made a world of difference. I’m an old codger and probably should not be allowed near a computer.

Go to work: When I was laid off, the government did not give me other people’s money. The folks at the labor department made sure I was looking for a new job.

Go complain: Sick of the way men are portrayed on TV? Simple – complain to the advertisers. Or better yet, turn off the tube!

How is this possible? How does a man convicted of molesting a family member receive probation, but you have people going to prison on their first charge, which is nowhere near as serious as this? I guess this goes to show how our system works. This is pathetic.

Child labor: Mayor Sells said the water park would be something that Grantville could easily afford. From the picture they had in the paper of breaking ground for the water park, I can see why, but isn’t it against the law to use child labor?

Re: Kudos to Ms. Milligan’s letter: Republicans do not want to create jobs and put people to work; they want to get rich and exploit workers in Third World Countries to do so. Reference Bangladesh: Over 600 workers there have died in the last year producing goods for American companies.

What is it again? The Pew Research Center is a nonpartisan, non-advocacy organization. Its polls, respected by government and the media, report changing trends in the society. A recent one says that 42 percent of Americans don’t know what Obamacare is, or that it is now the law of the land. That explains a lot.

His name is killer: Ever wonder about the IQ of people who take these little cheap cars and put big mufflers on them? They’re the same people who put a studded collar on a Chihuahua and call it “killer.”
