Sound Off - Wednesday, April 17

Get a license: Grantville City Councilwoman Selma Coty has been running a business in her home for years without a business license and constantly attacking the licensed businesses. Also, her house is valued at over $240,000, but she pays less than $390 in property taxes? Should she be representing us?

............................

Poor house: Obama spending is sending this country to the poor house. Someone stop this mad man. Democrats are not exempt, which you had better realize soon. Others who are “less informed” are under his spell, too. There are no freebies.

............................

Print me: I believe my Sound Off (which was not printed) is much more important than hogs in the left lane. There is a house unfit for a human to live in on Bexley Road. A person is living in it. Code enforcement needs to see this. There is certainly danger here. The owner should be ashamed.

............................

Just what are we? I’m tired of all the back -and-forth about whether we’re a republic or a democracy. The sad truth is that America is a “corporatocracy.”

............................

Korean kid: Washington needs to send the 30-year-old North Korean Punk a two word message: HIROSHIMA - NAGASAKI.

............................

Bad intersection: A few months back I sent a Sound Off about the danger of the intersection near East Coweta High School, Hwy. 154 and Old Hwy. 16. Only two stop signs for a three-way intersection. It was not worthy to be printed. Now, the paper tells of an accident at the intersection.

............................

Bread on water: Cast not your pearls before swine, for they will trample them into the mud. But cast your bread upon the waters and be much loved by ducks.

............................

So who’s right now? My comment made Sound Off about how within three months of Obama taking office the first time cigarette prices doubled and I was criticized by someone calling it an excise tax and saying that it was not for the government budget. Obama just released a statement that he plans on raising the taxes for smokers. Want to rethink your original statement?

............................

Liberals love regulations: I’ve figured it out: liberals want the government to regulate every aspect of their life: air, food, water, guns, everything that is except abortion. Why isn’t the media covering the murder trial of the Philly abortion doctor? He’s on trial for killing seven. Sounds more sensational than Jodi Arias killing her boyfriend.

............................

Get the facts: The writer who is tired of Democrats trying to re-write history needs to get his facts straight. The government has not taken over health care; it has only expanded health care insurance. He should do some reading himself.

............................

Need insurance: The victim of the horrible beating could be getting all the medical attention and therapy she needs if she had health insurance, which the Affordable Care Act is all about. Instead of care she probably faces bankruptcy together with lingering medical issues. Everyone deserves better.

............................

It’s state tax: To the person that stated Florida has no income tax, they surely do. I am a Florida resident and we pay income tax. It’s state tax we do not pay.

............................

What is, was: I would like to know where those people who now vehemently criticize and attack President Obama lived from 2000 to 2008. All what they are complaining about existed under the previous presidency or was started then, but at that time didn’t seem to bother anybody. I wonder why?
