Subscribe and help our schools
We have started a new incentive program to not only increase readership, but to help out our public and private schools.
As a newspaper, The Newnan Times-Herald strongly believes in literacy and education.
The students attending our local schools today will be our community leaders tomorrow. It is imperative they are well-educated —not only with various school subjects, but about their community as well.
The former we leave to our local school system, one of the best in the state. The latter is our responsibility.
Wednesday through Sunday, we distribute more than 9,000 copies of our newspaper. Another 21,500 copies of our My Connection, a weekly product, also are distributed. Coupled with that, we have an online digital edition and a website — available 24/7. In an average month, more than 300,000 visitors will come to our website, averaging nearly 1 million page views.
Our goal is to provide the best coverage for our community and our readers, whether through print or online. We believe it is important that residents know what is going on in their community, and that our future leaders do as well.
To that end, we are conducting a subscription drive contest — known as “Cash for Class” — with a portion of the proceeds of each new subscription sold going back to that student’s school. The proceeds are up to the discretion of each school and we have only asked they be earmarked for literacy, media and/or technology programs.
We are offering a year’s subscription at a reduced rate of $115. The regular rate is $132.68. Of that, $25 will go to each school where the subscription was sold. We are also offering a six-month subscription at $57.50, (normally $77.04) with $12.50 returned to the school.
In addition, we will offer a monetary bonus to the school in each division — elementary, middle and high school — that sells the most subscriptions.
Signup forms are in the newspaper. Just look for the “Cash for Class” advertisement. You can also contact our circulation department directly at 770-304-3373.
This is a great way to not only keep up with your community, but help your children’s schools. We, and the schools, appreciate your support in advance.
