Liberals missing the point

Reading a Letter to the Editor recently from another liberal who twists words around about conservatives. I can't help but feel sorry for him. It is obvious he has had to depend on government his whole life. Actually he lives in a fantasy world and gets all of his info from the Obama reelection networks

First he says radical right wingers don't want their tax money going to help people. That is obviously not true since conservatives want responsible spending of their tax dollars. Also it is a proven fact conservatives give more to charities than liberals. Liberals enjoy giving someone else’s money away. Just not their own.

Then he talks about the greatness of the government schools. Really is that why America is behind other countries in education?

Then his statements about going into the military getting pay, training, three hot meals a day and a cot. Plus if you have a family you get that extra allotment etc. Then if they retire from the military you get a generous retirement with those great VA benefits etc.

A person who retires from the military has spent years away from his family, possibly in a war or two. If you look at their pay, especially enlisted, you add the hours they spent working and it comes out way below minimum wage. Someone in the private sector doing the same job was making 10 times the salary. Then you look at the meager pension for all those years away from family, getting shot at etc and having to start over again and find a job in your 40s you wonder why you sacrificed. Especially if you come out of the military missing limbs and the wonderful government is cutting military pay and benefits while giving illegals and welfare recipients more money.

Then he goes on to tell us how the government provides all those airport services, air control etc. It is the working taxpayer that pays for all of the services.

The writer went on to say some people should think before they complain and he is grateful for what the government has done for him. Actually he should be thanking a military person for what they did for him, while he worked a cushy union job subsidized by taxpayers. Just ask a military person who is crippled for life who is having his benefits reduced if he is grateful for what the government is doing for them.
