Westmoreland at it again
Rarely can I let a Westmoreland comment go by without retort.
Westmoreland's alleged outrage at the suspension of death benefits for veteran's families rings hollow, as reported in last Thursday's Times-Herald. The suspension of death benefits, among millions of other payments, was a foreseeable consequence of a government shutdown, of which he has been part and parcel.
Due diligence, research and forecasting cause and effect are the business of government. Making political mileage on the backs of the families of veterans killed in action is unconscionable. Coweta deserves better.
