Sound Off

Make it hurt: During the government shutdown, as in the sequester, department leaders were instructed by this administration to do the most harm to the American people. A U.S. Park Ranger was quoted "We've been told to make life as difficult for people as we can."

Don’t think so: Sharpsburg has city parks? That's news. As small as the town is, if they existed I am sure I would know about it. Must be election time.

Get elected: Sharpsburg must do it differently! Councilman stated "When I returned home I was asked to return.” In most places, one has to be elected.

Rubber stamp: They told us in school over a half-century ago, that all spending bills originated in the House of Representatives. If this is no longer true and the House is required to fund whatever the President and the Senate want, then the function of the House can be performed by a GS-6 with a rubber stamp. We don't need all these expensive people. If it is still true, why can't some of them say so.

It’s the budget: If the GOP and the Tea Party will bring their focus back to the budget and the debt issues instead of continuing to bash the ACA, they would garner more support. The opposition to ACA isn't cost, budget or debt driven. It’s ideological. What a sideshow.

Great show: The artists in the Society of Seven have a fabulous show up. One of the best I have ever seen anywhere. Catch it before it goes away.

"When did we vote for Obamacare?": You didn't--just like you didn't vote for Social Security or Medicare or to go to war in Afghanistan. We have a representative democracy in this country, not a pure democracy. Did you take civics in school?.

Dear Republicans: Re Obamacare: you lost in the legislative process, in the court case, and in the national election. There's a proper way to try again, but it's not what you're doing.

What’s in it?: Who would have voted for Obama if we could have seen what was in the ACA? The exact same people who voted for him. They are already getting free healthcare (and everything else), this had no bearing on their lives whatsoever.

No shame: It's utterly shameful how low the GOP has stooped to try and embarrass Obama. This type of governing belongs nowhere. The majority rules. You must respect authority if you ever expect to be in authority. If you can't, guess what? Chaos and anarchy.

Breaking news: Tea Party demands that Georgia be given 20 more points against Missouri or they will shut down college football.

Turn the cheek: To the person that said the GOP are not respecting the constitution dealing with Obamacare. Are the Democrats respecting the constitution concerning the Marriage Act?

Just stop: Stop all the suggestion that Obama is less than this or that. Just say it, "I don't like Black people and no matter what anyone does, I'm not changing my mind." Obviously the man is very competent, has done a great job and we are better off having had him as President!

Hiding cash: If you think a good education guarantees good paying work, why are so many educated people working low jobs? Blame the employers who stack the cash in their accounts and prefer providing overtime hours to new hires. Profits, profits.

Obamacare Constitutional?: Doesn't anyone remember that Chief Justice Roberts had to rechristen Obamacare a "tax' in order to rule it constitutional? If ruled on as presented (not a tax), it would have been thrown out. Roberts, generally viewed as a conservative, jumped ship. Wonder what they had on him.

Victim or victor?: Most Democrats think of their constituents as victims. Most Republicans and Independents think of their constituents as victors. God created victors, not victims. Which one are you?
