What the minimum wage is really about
This is in response to the Dennis Thompson letter to the editor titled “Make the Minimum Wage Livable.” Mr. Thompson, who is a staunch liberal and union supporter, might want to do his research. He would see that 99 percent of the businesses in America are small businesses.
He keeps harping on these major corporations that are supposed to be exploiting their workers. What corporations? Just because a corporation doesn't want a union that sends millions to the Democratic Party in their business doesn't mean they are exploiting workers. Unions get millions in contracts from the Obama Administration because they give to his party.
So is a business supposed to pay employees by the size of their family and not productivity? Minimum wage was designed as an introductory wage to help students and others obtain skills. So whose fault is it if you have not improved yourself and years later still making minimum wage? Not the employer.
Mr. Thompson talks about the Right Wing Kool-Aid. Nothing is more evident than the Left Wing Kool-Aid being spewed by the Obama reelection networks, which is sponsored by Obama and billionaire George Soros.
I didn't know how pathetic the Democratic Party was till I heard Harry Reid answer the question about saving one child with cancer. His response was, “Why would we want to do that?” That just shows how disgraceful he and his party have become.
Mr. Thompson goes on to say everyone thinks they are a Haves but really they are Have-Nots. Fact is, Mr. Thompson suffers from class envy. He just hates people who have worked hard and got ahead in life.
The Democrat Party is $18.1 million dollars in debt. The Republican Party is $12 million dollars in the black. I guess Mr. Thompson, who is a liberal and who supports the democrat party, is a Have-Not.
His party’s debt proves it.
