Westmoreland the new 'Obstructionist'
Mr. Westmoreland must be worried about being unemployed. What other job do you know of, Mr. Westmoreland, that pays $176,000 yearly and gives 250-plus days of paid vacation yearly and perks?
So would Mr. Westmoreland do anything and say anything to please his voter base in order to keep his job? The answer is yes. The town hall meeting was a joke and a rally cry for the Tea Party and honorary title of Obstructionist to be added to Mr. Westmoreland’s resume.
Obamacare, which is federal law, was actually taken from a health care plan used and promoted by Bob Dole during his 1996 presidential campaign. In addition, when Mitt Romney was governor of Massachusetts, he used the same principles as Obamacare that was put forth by the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank. Most GOP members supported the plan, until President Obama.
Obstructionists like Westmoreland have identified themselves as the party of NO, hate Obamacare for one reason — it was passed by a black Democratic president.
What would America be like if Obamacare actually works? But you would never hear Mr. Westmoreland say that, with all the rhetoric, outright lies, and baseless information to promote fear as their key talking points by the Obstructionists. No wonder the GOP does not want Obamacare to work. If it did, how would the GOP look?
It's sad that so many Americans are hurting, unemployed, with no health care due solely to arrogance of members of Congress like Mr. Westmoreland.
