Sound Off

Gatekeeper: Is anyone surprised that there would be a "gatekeeper" at the Westmoreland town hall meeting to pull the tough questions? Now they’ve done it: By barring CNN and NBC from carrying the Republican Presidential Primary Debates, the GOP National Committee is only cutting off its nose to spite its face. That means that only wackos will be watching the Wackos debate. Go Hillary!

Really? Did I hear that an Atlanta congressman is writing comic books? Have the voters been dumbed down to this level? What is this world coming to?

Watch what you print: I'm all for the First Amendment, but maybe you shouldn't print every Sound Off you receive. I'm sure there is a black supremacy newsletter that would be glad to print these opinions.

Vacation time: Compare how many weeks vacations and taxpayer money the Obamas have spent compared to congressional vacations. The Obamas have gone on more vacations and spent more money than the last five presidents.

Pray and drink: I think it’s a great idea for churches and bars to be close to each other. Makes it easier for the non-churched barflies to find their way to forgiveness. And vice-versa.

Let’s see: 97 percent of scientists warn about climate change? As time goes on they are realizing they were wrong. It was a ploy for our government to take over anything, and everything they could. Open your eyes, see the lies.

Choose your writer: I want to see more articles from Keith Crosby, Frank Banta & Lisa Gunther, and no more from Dennis Thompson.

Level it: I understand why the Board of Education gave this "valuable piece of property" (Howard Warner School) to the city of Newnan. Surely the city council is not considering spending almost two million dollars to make it useable? Crank up the bulldozer.

No more party lines: American voters need to stand together and vote for the best person for the office and not just party lines.

A true biker: Kudos to the lone bicycler I passed on Gordon Road recently. He had a flashing red light attached to the back of his bicycle. It would be nice if other bikers would do this. Many don't use common sense in making themselves visible, especially in low light, by not wearing reflective or bright clothing.

C’mon: Sound-Offs that rant about things that aren't true or are racist make the Times-Herald sound like Fox Newsless.

Get it done: The paving at ECHS has not been completed. The entrance by the front parking lot is not done and it is a mess. It is not safe, with all the cars coming in and out. Someone needs to look at this before football season starts.

Give me Spain: I don't care where Columbus was from. If he hadn't brought us all over here we would still be living in beautiful Spain, OK?

What about mine? How come baby George gets to be king, but my darling baby grandson doesn't? My grandson might make a better king. It seems unfair to me.

It’s for everyone: The 1st amendment applies to all. Not just certain opinions or races.
