Sound Off

Emissions testing: If they are going to keep having emissions tests, they should be statewide to be fair to everyone. Think of the jobs and revenue it would create. Who knows, this might reduce the cost of the existing test.

About Paula: A lot’s been said about Paula Deen, ‘ya’ll.’ So I’ll make it short. Paula, I forgive you, I love you, so keep on cooking.

Make it happen: If you want "freedom of pleasure" to be a constitutional right, there's an amendment process. Or you can tell John Roberts it's a tax. Either way. Thanks Alex: Alex McRae had a great article in the Sunday newspaper.

Like my tatt: Forty-seven years ago, in Hawaii, I paid Sailor Jerry ten bucks for a tattoo of a parrot on my shoulder. I still like the way it looks.

Thanks Lisa Gunter: I agree with your opinion to Letters to the Editor. I was taught, “You are known by the company you keep.”

Silly tatts: Forget reaching age 80. Anyone over the age of 30 looks silly with a tattoo. After a few years it just looks like a blob of ink.

Go Libertarians: In answer to "Confused" concerning the GOP. "Which party is for less government intrusion, less regulation, and for more freedom and liberty?" Partially, the GOP is for these. Ideally, the party you and all voters need to look at is the Libertarian Party. Libertarian does NOT mean 'liberal'. It means LIBERTY!! We believe in the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.

Whose healthcare?: What Republican health care reform? If you watch something other than Liberal Left news, you'd see the Republicans have ideas too. It's just Democrats shoot it down without any consideration. Democrats are even trying to get out of Obamacare.

I’m confused: Wow. You get 60 years in jail for child molestation for sleeping with your relatives and someone else 20 years probation for sleeping with their adopted daughter. Unreal. Makes makes no sense to me. Where is the justice here?

English lesson: I would like to thanks Miss. Jeantel for explaining racist words and their spelling. "A" is ok, "er" not ok. So I guess I'm a "cracka" and not a"cracker." Oh the humanity.

Come on code officials: I love the sound off column, interesting stuff is commented on. Now it is time once again to get after code enforcement officials and make them accountable to the county for all uninhabitable buildings.I t is about pride in our county, either make owners restore them or tear them down.

Getting food: I know that hundreds of people still go to churches for groceries twice a month.

You don’t get it: If you make less than five million dollars a year and vote Republican you simply don't understand the problem.

The blight: Early blight sure did get my tomatoes this year. But my summer squash, cucumbers and butternuts sure have done well! Life is good.

Read it: If members of Congress had read the health care bill first, they would have never passed it. And there would not be the problems there are now.

Still have trash: The City of Newnan has two full time Code Enforcement Officers plus a Sanitation Superintendent and yet, still we have illegal dumping, littering and people without trash service. You can't always solve a problem by expanding a budget and throwing more money on it. Sometimes, it's about quality and not quantity.

Who was that?: I swear I saw the image of Lawrence Welk in the fountain in the Greenville Street Park Thursday.
