Congress' action intolerable

The absolute impertinence of Congress in the feeble emergency gesture to deal with America’s catastrophic debt is intolerable.
In the summer of 2011, financial rating agencies demanded a $4 trillion reduction in U.S. spending (over 10 years) or face the first downgrade in our history.
The $4 trillion merely offsets the interest on our debt. It doesn’t reduce any of the debt.
Congress responded by increasing spending by $10 trillion and increasing the debt limit by $1.2 trillion so it wouldn’t be an issue in the 2012 elections.
Heaven forbid our elected representatives should have to answer to the voters for their gross dereliction.
America’s credit worthiness was downgraded as promised.
The White House then crafted a fiscal cliff ostensibly so draconian as to demand responsible action by Congress.
Coincidentally, the fiscal cliff was structured to accomplish the radical agenda of the White House (to fundamentally transform the U.S.) to disastrously increase taxes on all Americans, simultaneously decapitate defense spending in the face of total instability caused by administration policies in the Middle East, an ever-growing Chinese military presence in the Far East, nuclearization of North Korea and Iran, and increasing belligerence by Russia.

The icing on the cake was the administration could then blame it all on Republicans. It’s more important to affix blame than to fix problems.

In a free and rational world these tactics would have been reviled as irresponsible.

Congress now proposes $1 in spending cuts for every $41 in tax increases.

This is the response to disastrous overspending and $16 trillion in debt that is increasing by more than $1 trillion a year.

Ever notice that our elected representatives grow wealthier yearly, even as taxpayers become more indebted?

It’s because they continue to sell favors at our expense because we let them. Stupid is as stupid does.
