Another view of unions
The letter titled “Unions set the pays cales” seems to me to be an admission by a liberal Democrat that the unions are the cause of companies moving out of the United States. When a company is unionized, the union thinks they own it.The statement was made: “Those that don’t want to be represented by a union have the right to seek employment elsewhere.” There are many, many people smart enough to represent themselves and don’t need some radical talking for them and taking their money.
I understand the union dues collected in one year is $48 billion.
The union members have no say in the spending of that money. The union and their elected officials are the reason for the conditions this country is in today. They point fingers at everybody but themselves.
The action of the Michigan government was the first step to get the people working again. All states that don’t have a right-to-work law needs to pass one.
The letter didn’t mention that General Motors is building a $2.2 billion plant in China. You haven’t seen much in the President Obama news media about it. Why?
By the way, I worked in management for General Motors dealing with the union for 27 years.
