Charter school private

Charter schools are private schools in my mind. Why should I help pay to send your children to a private school? I pay taxes to the county, state and federal governments, of which a part of these taxes is to fund public education. If charter schools (i.e. private schools) take part of these tax funds for their use then the public school system once again falls short of needed funds to provide the children an education.
The public school system in Coweta County served my children well. If you are not happy with the public schools then maybe you are part of your own problem by not participating in the education of your children.
I fully agree with sending special needs children to the best school that meets their needs. However, if you see the need to send your child to a private school because you do not like public schools, then please do it at your expense.
