Be makers, not takers
I read comments submitted to this newspaper and surmise there are two ideologies — a liberalist bent that believes government powers and provisions triumphs over individual liberties and responsibilities.I believe it is more of a test for America, specifically, to choose between good and evil. It is a choice between an ever-eroding, divinely-inspired foundation given to us by God through our forefathers or a belief in the lie that man knows best, crafted by the master of deception and confusion — Satan himself.
The catastrophe of our declining culture today has little to with political parties who have evolved from an initially well-intended government system from the beginning of our independence. We the people have allowed the halls of government to be empowered by evil-doers who merely pit one group against another arriving at a nearly even split between Americans today.
When we were attacked on 9/11, we prayed to one God and we rallied our strengths as one union. We were neither black nor white, rich nor poor, Republican nor Democrat. The dust has cleared and we are bickering with one another as the enemy is at the gate.
I challenge us all to be makers not takers, support candidates who do the least harm to our society, and get off this “what have you done for me lately?” ideal that is killing our country’s vision for prosperity.
We shall soar on the wings of eagles; God’s intended flight plan.
