A proud Republican

I am one of the 53 percent that Barack Obama chastises for working hard and being successful. I am neither greedy nor arrogant.
I do receive a pension check for serving 22 years in the Air Force, which included numerous remotes and two wars. I have never expected the government to support me. I served in the military following a tradition of my dad, a World War II veteran, and other family members who served in Vietnam.
I came from a working class family where both parents worked to support four children. My brothers and I learned from our parents what hard work was all about, and that if you want something you worked for it, not take it from someone else.
When I was in high school I worked three part-time jobs. After high school I joined the military. My average day on a flight line was 12 to 14 hours including weekends. I also raised a family and got a college degree later in my military career.
I now work for one of the largest airlines in the world that is non-union. From lessons I learned from my parents, I have been able to move up in the company.
I believe in the capitalist system where hard work and success is rewarded, not taken away by government regulations and wealth distribution under the disguise of social justice. I don’t believe in unions holding companies hostage to meet outrageous demands. America is the land of opportunity if you’re willing to work hard. I don’t believe in gutting the military as every democrat president has.
The Democrat Party has abandoned the middle class, the working class, the poor, the military, and it punishes the wealthy. The only hope for participating in the American dream lies with the Republican Party.

President Obama, I am proud to support the Republican Party and to be part of the 53 percent you demonize for working hard and being successful.
