We should try to live and let live

I’m very private about my beliefs or lack of. But I must speak out in response to the letter on moral decay.
I don’t believe in your God. But if there is one, I don’t feel he is as judgmental as you make him out to be.
I believe in the Golden Rule. I believe we should live and let live. I believe we shouldn’t judge women for what is obviously a very difficult decision when it comes to abortion. It is their choice and it’s their bodies.
I believe that if two people love each other, respect each other and wish to have a life together they should be given the same rights and privileges as any other human being, be they same sex or opposite sex.
I don’t believe in heaven and hell. If you’ve been a rotten no good all of your life, when you die you know that no one cares and that is your hell. A person who lives their life treating others with love and respect will die with a clear conscience and that is their heaven.
I don’t need a fear of God to make me a good person. I don’t need an outdated “Book” to quote to know right from wrong.

You are free to believe as you will. I don’t condemn you, just don’t try to cram it down my throat.

Elaine Monroy, Sharpsburg
