We again need lofty goals
I was saddened a week ago to find out that a true American hero had died. When Neil Armstrong stepped on the moon on July 20, 1969, the world was mesmerized. That “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” was the culmination of dreams coming true.
The hard work and sacrifice of many NASA employees, and their families, brought the U.S. victory in the space race. Look what we can do when we dream and work together.
The last lunar mission was 40 years ago. Think about that.
President Kennedy set us a big goal early in the 1960s to reach the moon by the end of that decade. We did it. Look up at the moon. Don’t you think we can achieve great things again?
