High school graduation a significant milestone in the life of a student

This is high school graduation week in Coweta County public schools, and by week’s end, more than 1,500 high school seniors will receive their high school diplomas.
Central Educational Center will have its dual enrollment graduation Wednesday at 7 p.m. with 110 students being recognized. Northgate High will graduate 420 seniors at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Newnan High will hand out 540 diplomas at 7:30 p.m. Friday, and East Coweta High will honor 580 seniors at 9 a.m. Saturday.
High school graduation is one of the most significant milestones in the life of a student. Earning a high school diploma is an important achievement, one that will pay dividends for each student every day for the rest of his or her life.
In today’s global economy, its imperative that a student have a high school diploma to succeed in the workforce.
We congratulate each of our local high school graduates. This is a giant step you have taken. It’s only the beginning. Each one of you now will continue your educational experience in college or some other training program — or you will enter the work force.
We wish you all the very best.
