We appreciate law enforcement

I’ve been living in Coweta County for 20 years and have observed our law enforcement making continuous strides in carrying out their duties. It seems over the years their professionalism continues to rise as they protect us and our businesses.

I believe the latest action is what prompted me to write this letter of congratulations and job well done. I’m referring to the armed robbers who hit the AT&T store near Thomas Crossroads.

Our law enforcement was able to apprehend them in a swift manner and take them into custody. Other municipalities experienced these same crimes, but Coweta County came through with catching these criminals. That tells me by example that we have a sheriff’s department that is vigilant, well-trained, and able to accomplish its mission.

I would also include the Newnan Police Department and its role in protecting us in their areas of operation. How many times have we read in the Newnan Times-Herald how they have taken drugs and drug dealers off our streets?

It seems that both law enforcement entities work well together and share a common cause. We are fortunate to have such a high caliber of law enforcement in our rather small community. I believe the actions of both the police and sheriff departments let criminals know that they need to stay clear of Coweta County. We don’t tolerate breaking the law, and we back it up with arrests and convictions.

I say thanks for everything you do. We appreciate you and support you in carrying out your mission to keep our communities safe.
