Jewel Smith Gillespie, age 90 of Fayetteville, Ga. died on Aug. 2, 2008 at Southwest Christian Hospice. She was born on Feb. 2, 1918 in Coweta County, Ga. to the late Llewellwyn and Lora Bomar Smith. In addition to her parents, her husband, John Merlin Gillespie preceded her in death.
The funeral service is Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of McKoon Funeral Home with Minister Lester Shell and Reverend John Riley officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park on Roscoe Road. The visitation is Monday evening between 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St, Newnan, Ga. 30263. Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to Southwest Christian Hospice, 7225 Lester Rd, Union City, Ga. 30291.

She is survived by son Kenneth (Pat) Gillespie of Newnan; daughter Nadine (Ken) Schwartz of Forsyth; grandchildren Cindy (Greg)Ivey, Mandy Gillespie, Darlene (David) Morris, Gary Schwartz and 10 great-grandchildren Ivy, Emily and Amy Morris, Cody and Zach Schwartz, Caden, Presley, Heather, Kyndal, and Cole Ivey.
