Mr. Rickey E. Barber
Obituary
Mr. Rickey E. Barber, 48, of Luthersville, Ga., died Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Born October 30, 1959, in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, Mr. Barber lived at Luthersville most of his life. He was a member of the Luthersville Baptist Church and Bigham Masonic Lodge in Moreland, and was employed in the family firm, J.O. Barber Lumber Co. in Luthersville.
Survivors include his companion, Kathy Langford of Luthersville; daughter and son in-law, Chasity and Chris Posey of Luthersville; son, Chad Barber of Grantville; grandson, Alex Posey of Luthersville; his parents, J. O. and Mae Barber, of Luthersville; sister, Bertha Hughes, also of Luthersville; brother and sister in-law, Jimmy and Janet Barber of Greenville; and his maternal grandmother, Lucille Flournoy Braswell of Luthersville. He was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Barber; and his grandparents, Bee and Avaline Barber and Hubert Earl Flournoy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 2, at Luthersville Baptist Church. Rev. Joe Felder and Dr. Mike Holdredge will officiate and interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Tuesday and Wednesday nights at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville.
