Douglas O. Allen, 84, of Lake Jackson, TX and formerly of Hogansville, Ga., died Friday, Sept. 26, 2008. Graveside memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville.

Rickey E. Barber, 48, of Luthersville, Ga., died Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 2, at Luthersville Baptist Church. Burial Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Tuesday and Wednesday nights at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home, Hogansville, Ga.

Frank Bezenah, 80, of Newnan, Ga., died Sept. 26, 2008. A memorial service will be on Sunday, Oct. 5, at 3 p.m. at Something Special, 83 Greenville Street in Newnan. McKoon Funeral Home Inc., Newnan, Ga.

Dr. Landrum P. Leavell II, President Emeritus at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and formerly of Newnan, Ga., 81, died Sept. 26, 2008 in Wichita Falls, Texas. The funeral will be at First Baptist Church, Wichita Falls, 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 30 under direction of Lunns Colonial Funeral Home, with visitation to follow in the church's parlor. Interment will be 10 am Friday, Oct. 3 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan, Georgia under the direction of Higgins Hillcrest Chapel Funeral Home. A memorial chapel service will be held in New Orleans, La. on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. in Leavell Chapel, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Funeral services for Rufus H. Thompson of Newnan, Ga., will be held Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, 11 a.m. at Crossroads Church, 2564 Sharpsburg-McCollum Road. Remains placed in state 10 a.m. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Viewing is Tuesday, Sept. 30, from 6-8 p.m. at Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home Inc., Newnan, Ga.

Dudley Edward Barlow, 82, of Newnan died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008. The funeral is Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The visitation is Tuesday between 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

James Riley Johnson, 76, died Sept. 27, 2008. The funeral is Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Heatherwood Baptist Church. Interment will be at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. The visitation is Monday, Sept. 29, 2008 between 6-8 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home.
