Mrs. Martha Amis Bridges

Martha Amis Bridges of Coweta County, Newnan, Georgia, died May 10, 2013, at Wesley Woods of Newnan.

She was born in Coweta County, September 26, 1917, the youngest of three children of William Henry Amis and Sara Austin Amis.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bridges was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Frank Wynn Bridges, and her brothers, William Henry Amis Jr. and Joseph Nathaniel Amis.Mrs.

Bridges was a member of Central Baptist Church, the Driftwood Garden Club, Newnan Hospital Auxiliary, and was a past member of the Newnan Junior League. She also served on the Coweta Girl Scouts Board.

She is survived by her son, Frank A. Bridges; daughter, Carol Starnes; son-in-law, William Starnes; three grandchildren, William F. Starnes Jr. and wife Wendy, Sara Starnes Arnall and husband Kirby, and Benjamin M. Starnes. She has five great grandchildren, Mollie Austin Starnes, William Mason Starnes, Sara Ellen Starnes, Wilkins Kirby Arnall Jr. and Henry Hamilton Arnall.

The funeral will be Monday, May 13, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the graveside at Oak Hill Cemetery, with Dr. Joel Richardson officiating. Visitation will be at McKoon Funeral Home at 38 Jackson Street beginning at 9 a.m. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to Central Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1221, Newnan, Georgia 30264.
