Mr. Robert 'Bob' Paul Bakus

Robert “Bob” Paul Bakus of Newnan, GA, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at his home. Bob was born on December 31, 1951, in Lansing, MI, the son of Lewis and Viola “Vi” Bakus.

Bob attended Michigan State University, where he received a degree in Packaging Engineer in 1978. His job led him to job locations in Minnesota, California, Texas and Georgia.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Janeen Bakus of Newnan; mother, Viola “Vi” Bakus of Albion, MI; sister, Karen and husband Chuck Hiatt of Albion, MI; brother, Steve and wife Julie Bakus of Chicago, IL; and mother-in-law, Mary Dague of Alma, MI; and several sisters and brothers-in-laws and some nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his father.

Memorial services for Bob will be held at the Newnan First United Methodist Church Chapel in Newnan on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at 12 p.m. with Dr. Med Roach officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 2525 Hwy 34 E., Newnan, GA, 30265 or to Newnan First United Methodist Church, 33 Greenville St., Newnan, GA 30263.
