Mr. L.T. Tenney

Mr. L.T. Tenney, age 89, of Newnan, GA, died on May 7, 2013.

He was born on Oct. 8, 1923, in Coweta County to the late George A. Tenney and Ruby Gill Tenney. He served under General Patton in World War II and retired from Ford Motor Co. in 1982. He loved his family and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing. He was an ordained deacon at White Oak Baptist Church. 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Christine Crawford; and brothers, Roger, Thomas, Bobby, Gerald, Allen, and Ralph Tenney.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Ruth Rainwater Tenney; sons, Terry Tenney and Tommy Tenney; daughters, Sandra Jensen (Don), Sherri Pickett, Donna Harris (Dennis); brothers, James Tenney (Ruth), Harold Tenney (Donna), and Richard Tenney (Jeanette); sister, Peggy Ison (Charles); grandchildren, Dee, Jennifer, Brad, Melissa, James, Jonathan, Kristy, Kelley and Matthew; 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 10 at Higgins Hillcrest Chapel with Rev Jimmy Fleming and Dr. Phil Pilgrim officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1 p.m. until service time.
