Mr. Darian Vershon DaRelle Person

Funeral service for Darian Vershon DaRelle Person will be Sunday, March 30, 2014, at 1 p.m. from Saint Smyrna Baptist Church with Pastor Tamarkus Cook serving as eulogist. Interment in Eastview Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 4 until 8 p.m.

Darian was born in Coweta County on February 5, 1991, to Robert Lee Boddie III and Lorella Person. He was the eldest of four siblings.

Darian was a loving spirit. He was family oriented and he loved his family beyond measure. He had a great sense humor and took pride in playing practical jokes on anyone who seemed gullible in the moment. One of his jokes that is often recanted is when “he stuffed his sister, Daisha, and cousin Ryan in the dryer. He eventually set them free and asked jokingly if they were scared, and they replied yes through their tears.”

Darian especially enjoyed spending time with younger children. One of his favorite things to do was cooking on the grill – pork chops, chicken, and ribs were his specialties. He was a very active young man and he enjoyed the sports of boxing and basketball. Darian had dreams of becoming a certified underwater welder. Almost anything pertaining to being near the water or ocean fascinated him. He could “swim like a fish.” One of the things he always wanted to do was jet ski.

Darian is survived by both parents, his father, Robert Lee Boddie III, and his mother, Lorella Person; three brothers, Christopher Coleman, Shakeal Person, and Tamarcus Powell; one sister, Daisha Beasley; grandparents, J.D. Person, Louella Anderson, and Jesse Smith; aunts and uncles, Dwight Person, Diana Anderson, Janice Smith, Martha Person, Linda McKeever, Linda Robinson, LaTonia Person, Felicia Anderson, Tanashia Smith and Kahdeesia Person; and a host of special friends, great aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to Sellers-Smith Funeral Home Inc., Newnan, www.sellerssmithfh.com.
