Mrs. Mozelle Wilson Hosey Patterson

Mrs. Mozelle Wilson Hosey Patterson passed gently from this life into the arms of the Lord she served. She was born Mozelle Wilson in Heard County and was the daughter of the late William Luther and Carnie Naomi Adams Wilson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Claude Hosey and Jessie Junior Patterson. Like so many of her generation, working in the textile mills provided an income when farming was impossible because of the depression. The mill workers were a close-knit family that carried over into their spiritual lives where churches like Arnco Baptist were central in so many social and religious functions. The blessings in Mozelle's life were many. Nothing, though, surpassed the love of her family. She is survived by her daughters Dianne Jones, Bobbie and husband Arnold Gilmore, Belvie and husband Wesley McKoon; her step-son, Ronnie Patterson and wife Dale. Also surviving is her sister Betty Musick and her husband Thomas. She has eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are by McKoon Funeral Home at 38 Jackson Street in Newnan. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Chuck Novak officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mckoon.com. McKoon Funeral Home 770-253-4580.
