Mr. David Lee Fields

David Lee Fields, age 69, died at his residence on July 18, 2013.

He was born in Newnan on November 19, 1943, to John David and Edith Virginia Cannon Fields.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Fields and Paul Fields. He is survived by his wife Patsy Beam Fields, and his son, David Lee Fields II and his wife Sheila Marie. His grandchildren, who were such a vital part of his life, are Katie Lynn Annette Fields, Kaya Nicole Fields, Sydney Elaine Fields, Jacob Anthony Fields, Dylan Michael Fields and Justin Bernard Reineke. There is one great grandchild, Savannah Reineke. Also surviving are his siblings, Cary Allen Fields and his wife Janice, Emily Fields, and Joel Fields and his wife Kitty.

David was a quiet and thoughtful person. He was proud to have served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He served for many years as a deacon at New Hope Baptist Church. He loved everything about flying and airplanes and attained his private pilot's license and served as a station director for Provincetown-Boston Airlines. In his retirement years he enjoyed tinkering and was a frequent face at yard sales.

David was a welcome guest at anyone's house, and those who knew him best knew to keep his favorite coffee cup close by.
