Mr. Eugene "Gene" Pierce Warren

Mr. Eugene "Gene" Pierce Warren, age 83, of Newnan, GA, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013. He was born on Feb. 8, 1930, in Coweta County, GA, to the late James and Elizabeth (Cox) Warren. Mr. Warren was an active member of Royal Baptist Church. Mr. Warren served in the U.S. Army for two years. He worked as a truck driver for Lassetter Transport.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sybil Warren of Newnan; children, Deborah and Walter Smith, Kenneth and Cindy Warren, Jackie and Jerry Laster, James G. Warren. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Lucille Crews of Easley, SC.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan, GA. Funeral service will be held Sunday, July 21, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home with Dr. Paul Dennis, Rev. Franklin Treadwell and Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
