Mrs. Dolores "Dee" Lamanna Maguire, age 68, of Newnan, Georgia passed away peacefully at her home March 14, 2013.
Dee attended Palmetto High School in Miami, Florida, before entering the University of Miami in 1963. It was here that she became a proud member of the Singing Hurricanes, the first known show choir in America. She retired as a teacher from the Coweta County School System after 17 years of service.
Dee was preceded in death by her two sons, Don Maguire and Doug Maguire.
She is survived by her sister, Nancy Weitzman; nephews and nieces, Michael Lamanna, Robert Lamanna, Cynthia Bentancourt, Debbie Smith, and Cheryl Logue. Dee also leaves behind many devoted and caring friends, neighbors, her family of Singing Hurricanes and her beloved dog, Honey.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Sharpsburg at 10:30 on Friday, March 22. A reception will follow Mass in the church fellowship hall. The family will receive visitors at that time.
