Mrs. Patricia Rowe Cook, age 77, of Alvaton, Ga., passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital in Newnan, Ga.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, March 8, in the chapel of Smith-Steele-Meadows Funeral Home in Woodbury, with Rev. Winston Skinner officiating. Interment will follow in the Alvaton Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Cook was born Jan. 28, 1936, in Alvaton, Ga., the daughter of Wilbur “Cotton” Rowe and Lena O’Neal Rowe. She was retired after 37 years service with the Georgia Department of Labor and was a very active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Alvaton. She was very much beloved by her family and friends and faithfully maintained close contact and enjoyed keeping in touch with her friends by telephone on a regular basis. She was preceded in death by her father, and a niece, Debbie Beard Pogue.
Survivors include her mother, Lena O’Neal Rowe of Alvaton; a son, Dwayne Cook; a grandson, Brandon Cook, both of Grantville, Ga.; two sisters, Joann Rowe Campbell of Alvaton, and Sandra Rowe Beard of Stockbridge, Ga.; a brother, Russell Rowe of Alvaton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
