Mrs. Marjorie M. Foust Phillips, age 96, of Moreland, Georgia passed away at the home of her daughter on Feb. 24, 2013. She was born in Boise, Idaho on May 23, 1916 to Jacob Eli Foust and Lillian Foust.
She spent her growing years in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She attended Blair Business School and was a secretary for a stock market company in Colorado Springs. She "retired" at age 28 to marry Grady J."Sarge" Phillips after he returned from World War II.
The army became their life traveling three-fourths of the way around the world to places such as Guam and Germany. It was at their Germany assignment that they adopted their only child Heidi. Marjorie and family then returned home to Colorado Springs where she was a supportive and loving spouse, a nurturing and fun mother and grandmother, and a kind and helpful neighbor and friend.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, The Old Colorado City Historical Society, and the VFW Post 4051 all in Colorado Springs.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law (whom she thought of as a son) Heidi and Barry Gamblin of Moreland, Ga. She is also survived by two grandsons, Matthew (Tonya) Gamblin of Lakewood, Colorado, and Zachary (Rachel) Gamblin of Golden, Colorado. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Sharon, Jacob, Madison, Madeline, and Ginny all from Colorado.

A graveside celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, March 6, at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Colorado Springs Colorado. Family requests no flowers but contributions be made in her memory to the Newnan-Coweta Humane Society, P.O. Box 785, Newnan, GA 30264.
