Mrs. Jewell 'Nanny' Hulsey
Mrs. Jewell “Nanny” Hulsey, of Atlanta, passed away on Feb. 7, 2013, just days short of her 98th birthday.
Nanny was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was the true matriarch of her family.
She was a trusted confidant with an incredible memory, and was known for her kindness, generosity and for baking the “world’s best” biscuits.
She was a longtime member of the South Point Church in Sharpsburg.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, David F. Bray; second husband, Brady Hulsey; sons, Eugene Bray, Gary Bray; three sisters; and four brothers. Jewell is survived by her son, Ferrell “Ed” Bray, and wife Joy of Fayetteville; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Smith and husband Ken of Senoia; eight grandchildren, including 1 granddaughter and 7 grandsons; 16 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 11 a.m. at Mowell Funeral Home, Fayetteville.
Pastor Bob McCurry and Pastor Ron McCurry will officiate. Interment will take place at Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
