Mrs. Ruth Barron Mealor, age 84, of Newnan, GA, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at her home.
She was born April 9, 1928, in Coweta County, GA, to the late Charles Lee & Gussie Boynton Barron. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Larry R. Mealor.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newnan. She was a retired educator and a member of numerous organizations.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth & wife Beverly Mealor, Linda Mealor, Katy & husband Chris McNutt, Lee & wife Lynn Mealor, Hal & wife Nancy Mealor and Paul Mealor. She is also survived by her sisters, Evelyn Thompson, Charlsie Farmer and Katchie Cane; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family respectfully requests flowers not be sent, and contributions made to The Prayer Garden Maintenance at First Baptist Church, 15 West Washington St., Newnan, GA 30263.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Feb. 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan.
The funeral will be Sunday, Feb. 3 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Newnan with Dr. Jimmy Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
