Mr. John B. Arnold, age 84, of Turin, GA, died on Feb. 1, 2013, at his home following a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 20, 1928, son of the late Thomas L. Arnold, Sr. & Myrtice Addy Arnold. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by a brother, Thomas L. Arnold Jr.
John proudly served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. His working years were in the sales field. He was a member of Turin United Methodist Church, Turin Masonic Lodge #337 and Yaarab Shrine Temple. As a Shriner, he was a member of the Flying Fezzes, whose mission it was to fly burned children to one of the Shriner hospitals.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Martha DuVall Arnold; brother, Alton N. Arnold & wife Phyllis of Whispering Pines, North Carolina, and their children, Steve Arnold of Ashboro, North Carolina and Deanie Caudle of Beavercreek, Ohio; sister-in-law, Violet Arnold of Bedford, New Hampshire, and children, John Arnold of Hogansville, Georgia, David H. Arnold of Newnan, Georgia, and Deborah Nelson of Bedford, New Hampshire; and son, John Nazarenus of Westminster, Colorado. Mr. Arnold was also blessed with the love of his wife’s family.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Feb. 3 at 4 p.m. at Turin United Methodist Church in Turin, GA, with Pastor Griff Jones & Pastor Scott Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Turin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Feb. 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St., Newnan, GA 30263.
