Mr. George Milton Piner
Mr. George Milton Piner, age 68, of Senoia, GA, kept his date with destiny on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, as he passed into the presence of the One who created him.
George was born on June 16, 1944, in Durham, NC, to the late Oscar Franklin and Hattie Bell Lancaster Piner.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers.
Following high school, George enlisted in the United States Navy, where he obtained skills as an aircraft mechanic that would enable him to spend 28 years at Delta Airlines as a lead mechanic. He possessed keen organizational skills and a strong work ethic that served him well, not only at Delta, but to any of the many tasks he undertook during his life.
Outside of his professional career, George was a man of strong faith and a dedicated member of Turin Baptist Church.
Fishing, gardening, adventures with The Sons of Confederate Veterans, travel and his love of tractors assured that no moss ever grew under those feet.
In George’s own words, his life was a good one. His desire was that the circle never be broken and that all would be rejoined on the other side. Surviving George is his wife of 46 years, Betty Ann Piner of Senoia; his son, Travis Piner of Senoia; daughters, Teresa Piner Lamb of Senoia, Betty Marie Rinaldi of Whitesburg.
