Mr. Robert Lee Ransby (Little Feet), 79, died Nov. 21, 2012.
Mr. Ransby, son of the late Gus and Tommie Hines Ransby, was born Dec. 25, 1922, in Heard County, Georgia. He joined Bethel Heard Baptist Church and served faithfully until death.
He was united in holy matrimony to Viola Huggins, who preceded him in death. To this union two children were born. One child, Robert Terry Ransby, preceded him in death in 2004. “Feet” was also preceded in death by five of his siblings: Minnie Lou Ransby Ector, Oliver Ransby, Ollie Ransby Harris, Bennie Ransby and Mary Frances Ransby Thurman; and two step-siblings: James Robinson, Dayton, Ohio & Lizzie Robinson Newnan, GA.
“Feet,” as all so lovingly called him, was a loving & generous brother, uncle and friend.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 24 at 11 a.m. in the Sellers-Smith R.W.S. Memorial chapel with Rev. Anthony Melson, eulogist, Dr. Melvin D. Brittain Jr., pastor, presiding.
He leaves to rejoice in his memory, mourn his loss, and celebrate his homegoing, daughter, Mrs. Mary Ransby Sledge, Dayton, Ohio; sister, Idella Ransby Huggins (Det), Dayton, Ohio; brother, Daniel Ransby (Phil) Newnan, GA; step-brothers, John Robinson & Stanley Robinson, Newnan, GA; grandson, Robert Terry Ransby Jr., Dayton, Ohio; 5 precious great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mrs. Rosa L. Ransby, Arnco, GA; a devoted nephew, Olin Walker, Arnco, GA; two devoted nieces, Loretta Thurman, Grantville, GA, Sandra Singleton, Detroit, MI; a devoted great niece & nephew, Mary, James, Jameika, Jada, Erickson Powell & Taren Brown, Newnan, GA. Devoted friends & caregivers are Mrs. Priscilla Williams, Mr. Larry Robinson, Mr. Reginald Harris & Mr. Jerry Mitchell, Newnan, GA; special friends, Mr. Tommy Arnold, Mr. Leroy Geter, Minister Maggie Murphy, Rev. & Mrs. Anthony Melson and Dr. & Mrs. Melvin Brittian Jr., and The Edward & Myrtice Powell children; and many other relatives and friends.
