Mr. Elwood Greer Freeland
Mr. Elwood Greer Freeland, 67, of Newnan, GA, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, surrounded by his family.
Greer loved and cherished his family, enjoyed gardening, and was dedicated to his job at Yancey Brothers until his retirement earlier this year. He was also a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Greer was born April 12, 1945, in Mobile, AL, the only son of the late Elwood (Bill) Freeland, and Mary Pollard Freeland, who survives.
He is also survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Pierce Freeland, also of Newnan; son, Howard E. Freeland and his wife Shirley, of Sharpsburg; daughter, Becky Freeland Walden and her husband Billy, of Sharpsburg; grandchildren, Trey Freeland, Drew Freeland, Aden Freeland, Mallory Sellers, Jacob Walden, and Justin Walden.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18 in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home with Dr. John Riley and Rev. Searcy Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
