Mr. Joseph K. 'Joe' Mair Jr.
Mr. Joseph K. “Joe” Mair Jr., 70, of Greenville, GA, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at his home.
Born Oct. 7, 1942, in Philadelphia, PA, Mr. Mair was the son of the late Joseph Karl Mair and Marie Catherine Legel Mair. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, had been employed as a supervisor for Atlantic Steel, and retired from Olsonite Manufacuring in Newnan. He had also served as a school bus driver for the Meriwether County School System.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Melanie Longshore and her husband Gregg of LaGrange, Debra Reeves and her husband Michael of Pine Mountain, Robin Morgan and her husband Joey of Fayetteville; step-daughters, Sharon Baker of Panama City, FL, Kim Smith of Moultrie; step-son, Randy Davis of Ranburne, AL; sister, Janet Mair of Philadelphia, PA; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Ann Mair.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 18 in the chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville with Rev. Wayne Hester officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately before and after the service.
