Mrs. Edna H. Walker, 91, wife of the late Roy Duke Walker Jr. of Newnan, Georgia, died at the home of her daughter in Greenville, South Carolina on Nov. 6, 2012.
Born in Newnan, Georgia, on Feb. 4, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Susie Mae Camp Howard and Charlie Howard. She retired as vice president and corporate secretary of Financial Services Corporation in Atlanta. After she retired, she served as a CASA/Guardian ad Litem volunteer and spent many hours caring for family and friends. She was a life-time member of Central Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by a brother, LeRoy Howard; and sisters, Mamie Bean and JoAnne Williams. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sue Anne and Tom Link of Greenville, SC; grandson, Thomas W. Link of Greensboro, NC; nieces and nephews, Ted Howard, Carol Howard, Betty Jo Smith, Leigh Brown, Mary Sue Hutchens, Steve Williams; and numerous special great nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at the Central Baptist Church in Newnan on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m.
Mrs. Walker’s memory may be honored by memorials to Central Baptist Church, 14 W. Broad St., P.O. Box 1221, Newnan, GA 30264 or to a charity of one’s choice.
